Mui Ne beach

On our way from Dalat to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), we stopped for a few days of pure beach escapism in the resort town of Mui Ne.  The road down from the mountains and Dalat was rough, but as we got closer to the coast we drove through fields of dragon fruit.  We finally reached the beach resort town of Mui Ne, and stopped for a few days to eat good seafood and read on the beach before pressing onwards.

The beach at Mui Ne is windy and thus popular with windsurfers and kite-surfers.  We relaxed on the beach, swam in the ocean, and had some excellent barbecued seafood.  Now we are moving on for a quick stop in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City and then up the Mekong Delta to Chau Doc and into Cambodia.

Are you driving a rented car? Hopefully they have better driving skills than the people of China. The rappelling sounded ‘awful’ exciting.

We have been riding on buses between cities in Vietnam. Sometimes bikes or scooters into the countryside from the cities we stay in.

Wow, I have never seen a dragon fruit plant before. I guess I always imagined they grew on trees. I looked in up and I guess they bloom only at night, are native the the americas and are really high in fat if you chew the seeds (otherwise you will not digest the lipids).
