Lima, Peru

8 01 2009

We survived our flight and made it to Lima, Peru with enough time to walk around our neighborhood of Barranco, which has nicely kept colonial architecture and is right next to the beach. Lima is next to the Pacific Ocean and is located on top of tall rocky bluffs with short beaches below. We had our first Pisco sours on a deck at a touristy place overlooking the ocean as the sun set. Tomorrow we’ll spend more time looking around the City.

It is hot and humid but not unbearable. It is cooler in Arequipa then it was in Lima but still T-shirt weather.

* 2 fl oz (8 parts) Pisco
* 1 fl oz (4 parts) Lime juice
* 3/4 fl oz (3 part) Simple syrup
* 1 Egg white
* 1 dash Bitters
The egg whites are whisked until they are frothy and then placed on top of the drink.

Glad you made it safely! Will enjoy the trip vicariously. What is the recipe for a Pisco Sour? Nice digs! Thanks for sharing.
