We headed up to visit Jason’s sister in Montana, and to see some of the national parks up on the north in and around Montana.  We stayed in Bozeman a few days and then drove up to Glacier.  We stopped at Two Medicine Lake to camp a few nights and do a nice hike to Cobalt Lake.  We hiked up really nice valleys filled with huckleberry bushes.  It took extra time to get to the lake since we stopped to pick so many berries along the way. There are also lots of bears in the area, so we carried bear spray and made noise as we hiked through the bushes.  The wildflowers and berries made for some really nice hiking in this area.

Next we moved up into the main part of the Park, and camped in the valley that the famous “Going to the Sun Road” goes through.  We went to Logan Pass and hiked a portion of the awesome Highline Trail and spent another day walking around the lakes taking in the awesome views of the towering mountains.  In the rocky slopes we saw lots of mountain goats.  On our last day, we stopped at Avalanche lake and then drove back down to Bozemen.

We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary in the Park, and treated ourselves to a campfire diner of some fancy buffalo steaks and wedding cake (Jason’s sister made us another one from the same recipe she originally used).
